Only for a Season

There are reasons that we feel we belong in certain situations, that things come together almost perfectly for a little while- that strangely, we finally find ourselves fitting into a place like a missing puzzle piece right where we belong. It rarely lasts, however. I think you'll notice that eventually, in time, things will change and the time will pass. But why? Was it all an illusion? I think that God brings us to certain places for a while (exactly where He wants us to be), and it is right where we belong for that moment. But then we get new orders and it's off for deployment in some other faraway land. A few of the unwise ones will disregard this and stay where they are, assuming wrongly that they will go on fitting in there forever. They will get into a rut and not understand why things have "gone downhill so much", or "this place has really changed". What it is that has changed is where He now wants you. Don't expect anything perfect to last here. Remember, we were not made to stay in this land forever. The young boy in boot camp might find a great comfort in the friends he makes while training, but that doesn't mean he was meant to train forever. There are always greater things. He would have nothing less for us. And so it goes . . .
